What inspires me

Working mainly to commission I make objects for interiors. The work I make is low tech. It involves working and reworking surfaces and layering colour and texture which I find endlessly fascinating.

Trawling for materials at car boot sales and collecting is the main way I find ideas for development. I find the unintended, accidental collages/assemblages extremely fascinating and also the stories that go with the 'stuff'.

Making in the Midlands

Having previously worked in textiles, I retrained from 1995-1998 at the University of Wolverhampton in Glass. The variety of makers in our area is astonishing and Made in the Middle celebrates the different approaches and the different people here in the Midlands.
